Welcome to the The Golden World Wiki[]

A view of the Golden World as seen from space.

They say many young gentlemen flock to him every day, and fleet the time carelessly, as they did in the golden world. (As You Like It, Act 1)

A fictional world, completely baseless. Add and edit as you like it. Keep it canonical. Create the canon as you work.

A few qualifiers: you can create countries, either in the ancient past or in the present. You can make anybody or anything you want. I'm not going to hold you back. Just make sure you make more links per page than you define, so the wiki expands. And be courteous to others' creativity, please.

A frame of reference:

  • the year, to be simple, is 1312h., or our world -700. Years are expressed in h(istoric) terms, or since the advent of written records. Alternatively, the system based on Dandalus' birth, or before dandalus (BD). I keep writing this bh, it is definitely BD.
  • if you make an unqualified statement of truth (Republic of Tyrone is world leader), put it in the appropriate spot on the main page, so other people won't trample on your work. Ok?
  • if you wish to create something that you don't feel jives with the rest of the world, make it prophecy or ancient history. Or put it on a recently discovered continent. That way, everything will be hunky-dory.
  • hint: references are {{reflist|colwidth=30em}}

Describe your topic[]

Since the dawn of time, the world has been rotating under the pink sun. Many kingdoms have come and gone since the birth of humanity (though the origin of humans is a hotly debated subject), and this is a history of these kingdoms. The power of these nations has been handed down, with one nation always dominating the others through military might, espionage, diplomacy, trade, or religious fervor. Most recently, the Republic of Tyrone has taken world stage with its display of staggering military power. However, as time will show us, its hegemony cannot exist forever.

The environment is closely balanced between exploitation and rejuvenation. Several religious sects, most notably the followers of Dandalus, fight against the environmentally destructive activities of multinational corporations, such as Dentilla Corp. Many of the largely uninhabited landmasses of the planet are actively being fought over by these two entities. The countries of the world are struggling to create legislation that will end the conflict between environmentalists and exploitationists.

Religions such as Birth Theory, Dandalism, and the old movements of mythology play a major role in world relationships. In some countries, the religions extend extreme power over the government, even to affecting legislation and national policy.
